At just 21 years old, Dan Barton began investing in real estate and quickly learned how to make money work for him. Now four years after purchasing his first property, he owns and manages over 100 doors though out Alberta. Here's how.
The Prodigy Group celebrated it's first year as a connector for young professionals around Victoria at Canoe Brewpub back on January 29th. Canoe BrewPub graciously provided a great spread of hors d'oeuvres to enjoy as guests listened to the evening’s keynote speaker, Dan Barton, a fellow Prodigy who had just been awarded the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award from the GVCC.

Victoria - Trophies were awarded to winners in 14 categories at the 2008 Greater Victoria Business Awards On April 16, 2008 at the Fairmont Empress Crystal Ballroom. The gala awards event, hosted by the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce also honoured Bob Wright of the Oak Bay Marine Group with the Governors’ Lifetime Achievement Award. The room was packed with over 300 business leaders, family members and friends to celebrate the successes.
Pub owner Matt MacNeil has been named business person of the year and Bob Wright, founder of the Oak Bay Marine Group, was given a lifetime achievement award at the annual Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce awards banquet last night.
- Oasis Properties > Just two years ago Dan Barton was clearing tables at a local restaurant. He sought the advice of a career counsellor and was told his wisest move would be to get a safe, secure job so that he could one day purchase a home. Maybe it was sibling rivalry that sparked him into entrepreneurship (his younger brother had already started his business), but Dan Barton ignored the sage advice he’d received and jumped into business feet first.
